FINCA EL PORVENIR

Grower Raul Duran (74 yr old, both of his parents were growers).   His son (as in Macondo) sports the same name Raul Duran and is also coffee Grower (aka Dona Astrid Medina husband)
Raul (senior) is a pensioner from FNC.  Currently he operates a Gereral purpose / agricultural store in Gaitania; and keeps an eye on his  El Porvenir Farm.   
Don Raúl purchased el Porvenir 45 years ago (1977)
In 1970, he was the first FNC Extension Service Rep. in Gaitania.  So he has been involved in this region coffee industry for many decades.

This name is rather romantic, made of a word construct using the words "Por Venir" or "the things to come", also know as the Future
